Overview

An international manufacturing group in Germany is seeking a Business Controller (m/f/d) to support financial steering, management reporting, and strategic business decision-making within a dynamic and project-oriented environment.

This position acts as a key business partner to local management and headquarters stakeholders, supporting financial transparency, operational performance improvement, and cross-functional business coordination. The role combines strategic financial analysis with a hands-on operational mindset in an international manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

 

Business Controlling & Financial Analysis

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly performance analysis including actual vs. budget and forecast evaluations

  • Monitor KPIs and prepare management reports to support business decision-making

  • Analyze profitability, cost structures, and operational performance indicators

  • Support cost control initiatives and continuous business improvement measures


Project & Operational Controlling
 

  • Track project progress, backlog development, and cost variances

  • Support project-related financial analysis and operational planning

  • Support business activities related to governance, compliance, and risk management


Management & Stakeholder Support
 

  • Act as a strategic business partner to local management and board-level stakeholders

  • Prepare analytical reports, presentations, and decision-making materials for senior leadership

  • Support communication and coordination with shareholders and headquarters functions

  • Contribute to the localization and optimization of reporting structures within an international group environment


Cross-Functional Collaboration

 

  • Work closely with various internal departments to improve financial transparency and operational efficiency

  • Coordinate with local and international stakeholders in a multicultural business environment

  • Support operational and strategic initiatives across the organization

 

Requirements

 

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, or a related field

  • Several years of professional experience in Business Controlling or Financial Analysis

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, HGB, and IFRS

  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, or project-driven business environments

  • Hands-on mentality with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Business fluency in German and English is mandatory

  • International mindset and experience working within global organizations

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across functions

  • Experience with project business or tender-driven environments is considered a strong advantage

  • PMI (Post-Merger Integration) experience or exposure to organizational transformation processes is highly desirable

  • Willingness to travel regularly within Germany as required by business operations

 

Benefits

  • Up to EUR 100,000 annual gross salary (depending on experience)

  • Annual leave : 25 days or negotiable 

  • Working hours: 40 hours per week
