The regional headquarter for the European market which is the product development arm and provides the parent company in Japan with important information about European market trends and technologies.
As one of three global R&D centers, we work on developing new models – from the first sketches to the finished vehicle. Our mission is to develop unique products, ideally suited to each European market. There are currently around 100 employees in the 75,000 square meters facility, which is housing offices, workshops and design studios. Designers, Engineers and Technicians are analyzing technological trends as well as European tastes and driving habits, in order to create products and services that take a wide variety of client points of view into consideration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Take responsibility as team leader HMI and Navigation
Manage complex product related issues and provide suggestions for improvements as well as prepare relevant comprehensive reports and analyses
Contribute to the technology and the product development processes, for next generation vehicles and technologies
Participate in the development of technology for various areas of in-vehicle Navigation, HMI, Connectivity and also D-UX.
Proceed technology/innovation development by creating requirements from customer and market perspective, compiling benchmarking data, competitive and supplier information from the European market and academia
Co-operate with the European Technology Research Team in vehicle connectivity area
Support implementation of relevant processes and systems
Facilitate and coordinate workflows with external business contacts as well as participate in related discussions
Defining user requirements in order to develop functional solution proposals and bring them to series production (in collaboration with the HQ in Japan)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Automotive, Electrical Engineering, or similar
Experience in leading small teams
Relevant work experience in technology development with focus on vehicle HMI, Navigation and related infrastructure, experience in Digital UX is appreciated
Ideally: Experience in gathering user requirements, creating navigation components and designing graphical elements
Good general knowledge of the European automotive market as well as in technology trends and performances
Strong affinity for automobiles
Strong technology understanding
High skills for MS-Office applications
Valid driving license class B
Good German and English communication skills and ability for easy integration into a multi-cultural working environment
