Company and Job Overview
A Japanese sporting goods manufacturer with over 60 years of history is currently seeking an Overseas Sales Rep for EMEA Distributors(m/f/d). Regarding areas, focus on Western Europe (excluding Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Spain, and Portugal, etc) and African markets (Morocco, South Africa, etc). The business is primarily conducted through distributors, and the position will be based at their European office in Düsseldorf. The reporting line will be directly to the headquarters in Japan.

 

Job Responsibilities
Distributor Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing Distributors and develop new Distributors.
Market Research with distributors: Analyze market trends in Europe/Africa and identify new business opportunities.
Sales Strategy Development: Set sales targets and develop strategies to achieve them.
Federation and League Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contract terms with associations and leagues in collaboration with Distributors and finalize contracts.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to Distributors on products and services.
Reporting: Coordinate and report to the Tokyo headquarters.
Planning: Create sales and procurement plans.
Customer Complaint Handling: Handle customer complaints and provide after-sales service.

 

Job Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Professional-level in English, Another European language would be better (Spanish, French etc) 
Field sales experiences (preferably with experience in overseas sales and Distributor management, 3-5 years)
Background or a strong interest in sports (especially basketball, football, handball, or volleyball)
Understanding of European/African business culture and practices
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Teams
Familiarity with Japanese business practices and culture
