A specialist provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance is seeking a Senior Claims Handler Property (m/f/d) for its Cologne office. Its core business includes one of the largest property and casualty insurance groups in the Japanese home market. In addition, it provides insurance and other related services through its global network of companies operating in 32 countries around the world.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Independent settlement of property claims (property damage, business interruption, NatCat, retroactive damage, etc.) including:
- Development of solution strategies and negotiations
- Management of experts and service providers
- Cooperation with partners, insured parties, brokers nationally and internationally
- Processing of recourse claims and claims portfolio management
- Supporting the claims manager with system and process optimization
- Claims management in accordance with national and international requirements
- Exchange with underwriting and other stakeholders
- External presentation and participation in specialist seminars
- Reporting on major claims and natural disasters
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ideally, you have a degree in engineering or business administration with a focus on insurance and at least 5 years of professional experience in the claims department of an industrial insurer with an international focus.
- You have proven negotiation skills and experience in the settlement of complex claims.
- You are a team-oriented, responsible employee with a high customer and service orientation.
- Your organizational skills and entrepreneurial approach help you to solve problems and shape change.
- You enjoy training and can communicate complex content in an understandable way.
Fluency in English, a willingness to travel and a good command of MS Office round off your profile.
