Company and Job Overview

A Japanese manufacturer engaged in the development and production of precision small motors used in industrial sectors—particularly in Automation/ Life Environment/ Automotive industry—is looking for a Technical Manager / Technical Specialist (m/f/d).


Job Responsibilities

  • Support sales team in all technical belongings towards inquire from customers

  • Evaluate and identify technical customization requirements from customers about our products (Electrical motor and related products such as gear box, fan and drivers) and prepare suitable proposals together with technical team in Japan.

  • Execute support the project launch from functional sample, B-sample (Soft tooled) and C samples (Hard tooled) to serial production.

  • Work as technical interface between customers’ engineering team and technical team in Japan, including bidirectional translation in some cases.

  • Regular web calls/meetings among, customers, Japan team and both.

  • Join common customer visits with sales team.

     

  • Limited cases as follow.

    • Carry out initial tests on returned quality claim units and support proper 8D reporting

       

    • procurement activities for sourcing of components from suppliers in Europe to add the value to our products locally such as gear box, encoders, sensors and Etc.

    • Support to expand the local R&D capabilities (lab and test equipment)

    • Perform benchmark of competitor units, in coordination with the engineering team in Japan

    • Support and participate in tradeshows


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in engineering: Knowledge in mechanics or electronics (Mechanical basis is preferred)

  • Experience of customized project launch or equivalent task.

  • Fluent in English and Japanese

  • IT-Knowledge: Microsoft Office, ERP-System (Microsoft business central)

  • Working independently

  • Negotiation skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work in intercultural teams

  • Confident Appearance

  • Willingness to travel (Drivers lisence is mandatory)
