Company and Job Overview

Japan’s No.1 specialist trading company in machine tools and tooling is looking for an Application / Field Engineer (Machine Tools & Assembly)  in Stuttgart.

Job Responsibilities
Provide technical support across the full lifecycle: requirement definition, specification, installation, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting for machine tools and assembly/measurement equipment. We broaden the hiring aperture: hands-on field capability over people management.

  • Lead/coordinate installation, commissioning, parameter setup, and trial runs at customer sites.
  • Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions; deliver operator training and documentation.
  • Support exhibitions/demos with technical explanations and prepare technical documents (schematics, manuals).
  • Ensure compliance with CE/EHS and maintain related documentation.

Job Requirements
Must Have

  • Up to ~40 years old (role requires physical field work and travel).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical (minimum) or related discipline.
  • Hands-on field experience in machine tools / assembly / measurement equipment (installation, maintenance, or applications).
  • Self-driven and able to work independently in the field; strong customer communication.
  • German: Required (main working language). English: Able to communicate for business. Japanese: Not required.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of cutting/grinding/surface processes; metrology experience.
  • Willingness to learn with OJT; openness to mentor/knowledge transfer from the current lead and take over locally in coming years.
