A global Japanese logistic and supply chain company is seeking a Export Clerk (m/f/d) with a focus on air freight, but also occasional tasks in sea freight (FCL, LCL, etc.).
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of the export team at Frankfurt/Main branch and responsible for the proper and professional handling of shipments. If you have completed training as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk (m/f/d) or have comparable further training or experience, we look forward to hearing from you.
- Acceptance of customer orders including review of documents in accordance with regulations and internal procedures
- Handling export transports from A to Z, primarily air freight, but also sea freight (FCL, LCL)
- Bookings and reservations of the required capacities with partners
- Customs clearance for export (e.g. ATLAS, AES; customs goods, special customs procedures, etc.), if applicable
- Planning and scheduling of pickups and transportation, in accordance with correlating Incoterms
- Preparation of all relevant transport documents
- Carrying out billing to the customer as well as cost calculations and price calculations
- Shipment tracking, identifying deviations and developing customer-oriented solutions in the event of incidents
- Complaints and damage processing
- Communication with customers, customs authorities, partners, carriers and foreign offices in Japanese, English, and German
Job Requirements
- Successfully completed apprenticeship as a freight forwarding and logistics services operator (m/f/d) or equivalent
- Professional experience in export (at least three years); air freight preferred
- Knowledge of customs clearance; export preferred
- Proficient in common MS Office programs, including Atlas and CargoWise
- Commitment, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently
- Organizational skills, flexibility, good communication and teamwork skills, as well as customer and service orientation
- Fluent in spoken and written Japanese, English, and German
