A family-run Japanese company with more than 200 years of history is looking for a Marketing & Trade Marketing Manager (m/f/d) .  It has two divisions: Food for human consumption and pet food. The company became the top brand of pet food in Japan and is also expanding internationally to make pets and their owners around the world happy.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Marketing & Trade Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in our growing business in Europe. You will manage our product portfolio and lead the development and implementation of communication plans. You will lead the activation of the customer and consumer brand activities and lead communication for product launches. You will be developing and executing strategies with a focus on driving category growth and enhancing brand visibility in various distribution channels.


In this position, you will assume complete responsibility for the Marketing & Trade Marketing for European operation. Your regular duties will include:
  • Local portfolio: development and management of local portfolio strategy based on HQ guidelines.
  • Creative and media agencies: Communication and Collaboration.
  • POP Vision Development: Develop a compelling Point of Purchase (POP) vision that ensures a consistent and appealing brand presence across different channels, enhancing brand recognition and customer engagement.
  • Tailored Channel and Category Planning: Craft customized channel and category plans at the customer level, incorporating point-of-purchase solutions. These plans should be designed to boost overall category growth while maintaining fairness and transparency with customers.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong external relationships by serving as the primary contact and trusted source for our sales teams regarding category-related inquiries, insights, and recommendations.
  • Pricing Strategy: Formulate and execute a comprehensive pricing strategy for the business, ensuring alignment with market dynamics and competitive positioning.
  • Performance Tracking: Regularly monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify growth opportunities for both customers and the business. Provide strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights.
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry and competitor activities, market trends, and emerging opportunities. Use this information to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Merchandising and Promotions: Provide data-driven recommendations for merchandising and promotional initiatives to drive total category growth for both retailers and the business.
  • This position has 1 direct Marketing report.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze market data, sales figures, and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Analytical skills are crucial for making data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset is essential for developing long-term trade marketing plans and strategies that align with the organization's goals and market dynamics.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication, both written and verbal, is critical for conveying marketing strategies, presenting findings to stakeholders, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel or data visualization platforms, to extract insights from large datasets and create meaningful reports.
  • Creativity: The ability to think creatively and develop innovative marketing solutions and promotions that capture consumer attention and drive sales.
  • Project Management: The capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines within budget constraints.
  • Presentation Skills: The ability to deliver engaging and persuasive presentations to internal and external stakeholders to convey strategies, findings, and recommendations.
  • Adaptability: Being adaptable and responsive to changing market conditions, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in multiple languages, especially if dealing with international markets, can be a valuable asset.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach, understanding customer needs and preferences, and tailoring marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree: a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
  • Category Experience: Previous experience within the FMCG sector is highly desirable, and expertise in the specific category (e.g., pet food) is advantageous.
  • Trade Marketing or Sales Background: A proven track record in trade marketing or sales roles, showcasing a strong understanding of customer engagement and category growth strategies.
  • Sales and Marketing Knowledge: A strong understanding of sales and marketing principles and strategies, as well as knowledge of consumer behavior and retail dynamics.
  • Candidate must be able to regularly commute to the office
