Sustainability Associate (m/f/d)

COMPANY OVERVIEW
A leading Japanese trading company, mainly active in fields of chemicals/plastics, infrastructure/machinery, steel, information technology and logistics is seeking a full-time Sustainability Associate (m/f/d).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting the  Sustainability Team Leader in managing and organising the sustainability program within our European corporate structure
• Supporting the team in creating and monitoring the implementation of environmental and sustainability policies, sustainability standards and procedures as well as regulations and legislation within the sustainability program and in consideration with corporate requirements
• Responsible for the preparation and coordination of sustainability reporting in accordance with CSRD and EU Taxonomy requirements (including the development of metrics and implementation of reporting lines)
• Assist evaluation and certification of the program
• Support various projects and business development in sustainability (e.g. climate change, circular economy, biodiversity, and natural capital)
• Conduct relevant training within our European network to expand and consolidate in-house knowledge of our business developments in sustainability
• Support the sustainability team in all audit-related activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• University degree, e.g. in sustainability management, economics, natural sciences or other related fields
• Ability to structure, prioritise, plan and problem-solve large and complex tasks
• Fundamental interest in dealing with legal issues
• Experience with the requirements and standards of sustainability reporting in an international organisation
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate complex information
• Very good communication skills
• Business fluent in written and spoken English
• German language skills are advantageous
• You enjoy working in an international team
