A Japanese technology company currently in an expansion phase in Europe is seeking an experienced Business Planning & Development professional.
This role plays a critical part in driving new business creation centered on next‑generation in‑vehicle software and 3D platforms.
You will take full ownership of the entire value chain—from business strategy and partner development to new business launch and execution.
This is a high‑impact position for those who want to build new business in Europe from the ground up with significant autonomy and influence.
Key Responsibilities
1. European Business Strategy & Planning
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the European market
Design business concepts utilizing in‑house technologies and products
Develop business models, revenue structures, and business plans
Create collaboration opportunities with European OEMs, suppliers, and mobility-related companies
2. Partnering & Ecosystem Development
Identify and develop strategic partners across Europe
Formulate and execute partnering strategies
Support alliance building, cooperation schemes, and contract discussions
3. Business Execution & Project Leadership
Drive initiatives from concept to commercialization
Manage cross‑functional communication with internal and external stakeholders
Act as a bridge between the European office and headquarters in Japan
4. Content & Value Creation
Develop new concepts leveraging technology and data
Contribute to establishing a unique market position in Europe
Qualifications
Must Have
5+ years of experience in business planning, business development, or product planning
Business experience with European companies or strong understanding of the European market
Proven track record of driving strategy from formulation to execution
Strong stakeholder management skills
Business‑level proficiency in English and Japanese (meetings, negotiation, documentation)
Nice to Have
Experience in automotive, mobility, IVI, SDV, mapping, or software-related fields
Experience working with European OEMs or suppliers
Overseas working experience
Background in partnering, alliances, and ecosystem development
Knowledge of platform or data‑driven business models
Technical understanding of software, cloud, or embedded automotive systems
Business‑level German
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary: €70,000–90,000 (fixed)
- 30 days of annual leave, plus half‑day holidays on December 24 and December 31
