The regional headquarter for the European market which is the product development arm and provides the parent company in Japan with important information about European market trends and technologies.
As one of three global R&D centers, we work on developing new models – from the first sketches to the finished vehicle. Our mission is to develop unique products, ideally suited to each European market. There are currently around 100 employees in the 75,000 square meters facility, which is housing offices, workshops and design studios. Designers, Engineers and Technicians are analyzing technological trends as well as European tastes and driving habits, in order to create products and services that take a wide variety of client points of view into consideration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the development of future products with the focus on electrified powertrains including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Plug-In-Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) and other future powertrain variants which will be used for a Multi-solution approach.
Investigate new strategies for energy management including thermal management for High-Voltage battery systems as well as overall efficiency improvements for BEV.
Ensure the interoperability of our products with existing and upcoming charging infrastructure changes. Help to implement and verify the latest communication protocols for Plug&Charge, Smartcharging and V2X.
Establish regional requirements for our future products, which are based on the newest market trends, costumer demands and EU regulations.
Manage complex product related issues and provide suggestions for improvements as well as prepare relevant comprehensive reports and analyses.
Support the integration of sustainable energy concepts e.g. Solar power systems with battery storage, which will support us on the way to carbon neutrality.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
Relevant work experience in automotive environment ideally BEV development
Expertise for traction battery & electric propulsion technology
Good general knowledge of the European automotive market
Ideally first experience with CAN communication and knowledge of charging standards (e.g. ISO15118) as well as operating INCA
Strong affinity for automobiles
High skills for MS-Office applications
Valid driving license class B and ideally BE
Good German and English communication skills, Japanese (additional)
Willingness and ability to work in an international and intercultural team
